What's happening in the land of Ciao Bella Bows......

It's been a busy couple of weeks for us here.  On a personal note, my son Ryan celebrated his 1st Communion this past Sunday!  He handled himself fantastically even though he was quite nervous.  I'm very proud of him and he looked quite charming in his suit!  Ryan's baseball team is currently in 1st place for their division and he's having a great time with his teammates and playing his favorite position; catcher!  He's almost finished with 2nd grade and I just can not believe how the time has flown by.  Reagan will be starting Pre-K 4 this coming August.  She is extremely excited for the chance to make new friends!  She's truly looking forward to attending school so I am praying she doesn't have the separation anxiety her big brother did.  Right now she's enjoying her 'home' time with Mommy.  She's a wonderful little girl to have around.  She's having a great time in her gymnastics classes and seems to be learning quite a bit.  She is also doing very well with her diabetes.  Thankfully she's been feeling great and hasn't had any set backs!  She's quite the trooper.

Now on to news about CiaoBellaBows.com!  Slowly new items have been being added to the online boutique.  As of today new Baby Girl Itty Biity Hair Bows and Collections have been added.  There are several Tuxedo Hair Bows Collections to choose from in the infant hair bows size.  You save $3 buy purchasing the collection over by them individually!

Also added today was The BIG 5" Classic Hair Bow with Headband.  This is an item for the Moms who love the really big hair bows on their little girls.  The hair bow comes attached to an alligator clip which allows you to remove the hair bow from the headband.  Giving you a more versatile use for your hair accessory.  There are LOTS of beautiful colors to choose from!

I recently received a rather LARGE shipment of flip flops!  I am currently working on accenting them and putting that special Ciao Bella Bows touch to them.  I hope to have the new flip flops available in the boutique very soon.  The flip flops are going to be available in a variety of fun and girly colors!!!

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any comments, questions or would like to make a special request at info@ciaobellabows.com!

Best wishes,

JDRF Walk - Team Reagan update

I wanted to post this adorable design my sister, Linda Doran of LDesignz, created for Team Reagan to wear at our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes this coming March.  She did an awesome job and I thank God that I have a sister that is so talented and willing to lend a hand.

Walk update!
To date Team Reagan has 20 family and friends walking with us on March 7th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville.  Although I just learned that the Brownie Troop from my son Ryan's 2nd grade class is going to join us on the walk and in our efforts to raise money for the JDRF.  It's going to be an amazing day; lots of food, entertainment, a chance to meet amazing people and let us not forget we will be lending a giant helping hand in the effort to help find a cure for diabetes!

If you would like to learn more about Reagan, her struggles with diabetes and our efforts to raise money for the JDRF, please visit our fundraising page by visiting clicking here on the link TEAM REAGAN!

We also wanted to send a out a giant "THANK YOU" to our family and friends who have donated their hard earned money to the JDRF in honor of Team Reagan.

Diabetes "Walk to Cure Diabetes"

As many of your know, this past October my 3 year old daughter Reagan was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  It has been quite a journey.  Thankfully Reagan is an amazing little girl and is handling her daily glucose testing and insulin shots unbelievably well.

This March are family and friends will be walking in the Walk to Cure Diabetes that is being held in Jacksonville at Metropolitan Park.  We created "Team Reagan" in honor of our daughter.  We set a family goal in hopes to raise money for the JDRF so that within our lifetime there will be a cure for diabetes.

If you would like to contribute a small donation in honor of Reagan to the JDRF we would truly appreciate any generosity.

Please visit www.walk.jdrf.org to make an online donation.  You will find "Donate to a Walker" and you can enter the following information:

Reagan diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes

As many of you know I have two children, Ryan is 7 and Reagan is 3.  We recently had a scare with our sweet little girl.  We had to take her to the ER on Oct. 4th and she was immediately admitted to the ICU at Wolfson's Children's Hospital in Jacksonville.  We spent 24 hours in the ICU with her before they had her system stabilized enough to allow her to move out of ICU.  Reagan was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and thankfully we were aware of the symptoms (since my husband is diabetic) and took her to the hospital before her condition was desperate.  Needless to say, those 4 days we spent in the hospital were very difficult.  Thankfully Reagan is an amazingly strong little girl.  She has been home for several days now and is handling her new routine like a champ.

Even though I will never understand why this happened to such a little angel, I do know that we will work together to ensure she is happy, stays healthy and lives a beautiful and enriched normal life.  I wanted to thank everyone for the warm wishes we received when news of Reagan's condition got out.  We truly appreciate all the kind words of encouragement and prayers.

Thank you,  Ann Marie

NYC

New York City is amazing!  I just returned from another trip to the Big Apple with my family and I must tell you that I truly love the beauty of the city.  This trip was a bit more 'action packed' than last year, so I feel like I may need a mini-vaca from the vacation!  We were able to take the children to the Statue of Liberty, the top of the Empire State Building and visited China Town, Little Italy, SoHo, Greenwich Village, 5th Avenue, Wall Street and of course where the Twin Towers were located.  We had a great time exploring Central Park too.  We let the kids enjoy the playgrounds and even watched a bunch of "old kids" play a softball game!  My daughter's favorite sites were the spots where they filmed Disney's movie Enchanted.  She loved visiting Bethesda Terrace (fountain) and since we stayed in Times Square she was constantly on the look out for Giselle and Prince Edward.  My son loves NYC and went to another Yankees game with my husband.  All in all we had a wonderful time.  We were able to share the experience with my sisters and their families too which made it quite special.
